In their own different ways, Olympians have engraved a memory in our minds. We regard them highly as heroes and heroines as they inspire us to be the greater versions of ourselves. Great Olympians have more to live for and serve us beyond their own ambitions in Olympics.
Then: Tonya Harding – Figure Skating
Tonya Harding became a household name in the 1994 Olympics after she assaulted another skater Nancy Kerrigan, this earned her a lifetime ban from figure skating. She was however allowed to participate in that year’s winter Olympics and she came 8th.
